Reese Witherspoon reveals she feels bad about her former co-star Joaquin Phoenix after he has announced that he is going to quit his acting career.

The Legally Blonde actress starred June Carter-Cash in 2005 Walk the Line which she played opposite Joaquin Phoenix who got a role of Johnny Cash. The film earned an Oscar in 2005 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role (Reese Witherspoon).

After Reese knew that her former co-star in the Oscar winning film decided to quite his acting career, she said, “I didn’t even know he said that…I hope not. He’s such a great actor.”

Meanwhile, the 32-year-old star said that as Christmas is approaching, she is going to dress her Oscar from Walk the Line. Reese admitted, “I keep it in my front den. We like to dress it up for Christmas. We put a little Santa hat on it and scarf because it gets cold.”

The actress and mother of two children Ava Elizabeth, 9, and Deacon Reese, 5 is impressive by keeping her kids out of spotlights and she does not want them and her boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal to be tracked by paparazzi.

“I always wonder where they get the pictures, but I can’t live my life like looking in the bushes, wondering where people are. There are certain things I have to do to just avoid the obvious places,” said Reese.

“I would want my kids to do whatever makes them happy and right now they’re not interested in acting but they love to sing, play music…” she replied when asked if she will allow the kids to try on acting.

Reese, who is currently starring in ‘Four Christmas’, revealed that the weirdest Christmas present she ever received was a dead squirrel.

She said, “My dad’s a doctor and his patients used to always send him weird things because we grew up in Tennessee so it’s country. One year they sent a dead squirrel…as dinner. So we had it in the freezer for like three years…My brother and I were daring each other to touch it for like $10.”
