Reese Witherspoon has revealed to Access Hollywood how hard it is to lend her voice in her new movie, the animated ‘Monsters Vs. Aliens’.
Although she is not playing in the film, doing the voice of one of the character in the movie is tough enough when expected to sound like Arnold Schwarzenegger or Bruce Willis.
“They wanted me to sound like Arnold Schwarzenegger or Bruce Willis,” the 32-year-old Hollywood actress said. “I was like, how do you do that?!”
Reese provided her voice for Susan, who ‘goes from being what she called a “quintessential ’50s heroine” to getting hit by a meteorite and growing to 49 feet tall, a change that necessitated some vocal tweaks as well.’
She continued, “Her voice got deeper and stronger and they wanted me to be like an action hero. They had to coach me a lot.”
Her two children, daughter Ava and son Deacon, were surprised when learning it was their mother’s voice after watching ‘Monsters Vs. Aliens’ because Reese’s voice is really different.
“We got home and they were like, ‘Do the voice! Is it really you?” she explained.
She said the kids like the movie and all the action figures.
Reese said, “I have all the action figures. As soon as I saw my own action figure, I ripped her out of the box and started playing with her. My kids love it, every morning we play with them. I have to pretend to be a giant robot.”
Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon has appeared in over 30 movies since she began her acting career but she has never been offered to play in any action movie.
‘Monsters Vs. Aliens’ might be the first one despite the fact that she only provided the voice for it. Have anyone watched the film? Did she sound like Arnold Schwarzenegger or Bruce Willis?
