Reese Witherspoon, who has a daughter Ava, 9, and five-year-old son Deacon, has recently revealed in Parents magazine how her daughter found her embarrassing.

Despite being an Oscar-winning actress, Reese’s first child, Ava, was not impressed when she sang after the two attend a gig of country singer Carrie Underwood.

The ‘Four Christmases’ star told the story of Ava who considered her an embarrassing mother.

“She said, ‘Mom I really appreciate you taking me to the concert, but will you please not embarrass me in front of Carrie Underwood by singing because she’s a real singer and you’re just, like a movie singer,” said Reese Witherspoon who won Oscar for Best Actress with a role of singer June Carter Cash in hit film ‘Walk The Line’.

Although she has played as a singer, she failed to impress her daughter with her singing skill. “I love to sing around the house and in the car, but my daughter hates it.”

However, the 32-year-old actress is delighted when her two kids see her as nothing else but an ordinary mum.

“Realizing you’re not anything special to the kids is always a great sort of reminder that you’re just a regular person,” she said. “A regular embarrassing old mom.”

Although Ava seems to well aware her mother is an actress, she and her younger brother have never seen Reese’s films.

Reese explained, “They know what I do for a living – that I’m an actress. But they haven’t seen any of my movies. Yet.”

She also enjoys doing what other mothers do for their children like picking up the kids from school.

She said, “I do get to be there for school fairs, plays. It’s so shocking to see my children in school and having an entire life without me.”
