Nicole Kidman is shocking her fans and Hollywood film industry after having signed to play a lead role as a transsexual alongside Charlize Theron in an indie flick ‘The Danish Girl’.
Hello Sunday Rose, your mother is going to set another controversy again by playing a man!
Nicole, who will also serve as a producer for this indie movie, will play the world’s first post-op Transsexual who is married to a woman.
‘The Danish Girl’ is based on 2000 David Ebershoff’s best-selling novel which is partly based on the true story of Einar, a Danish artist, who is post-op transsexual and married to Greta Wegener (played by Charlize Theron) in 1931. Their relationship kind of surprised and shocked the world.
Their marriage took a sharp turn to the worst after Einar stood in for a female model that Greta was set to paint.
When their portraits became widely popular in 1920′s Copenhagen, Greta encourages her husband to adopt the female guise. What began as a harmless game led Einer to a metamorphosis and landmark 1931 operation that shocked the world and threatened their love.
The film, which will be directed by Anon Tucker, has been predicted to become another major controversy, following Nicole’s controversial roles in movies like ‘Eyes Wide Shut’, ‘Birth’, ‘The Others’, ‘Moulin Rouge’, ‘The Hours’, ‘The Invasion’, ‘Bewitched’.
Nicole Kidman and Charlize Theron were Oscar winners as best actresses for their lesbian roles in ‘The Hour’ and ‘Monster’. Without doubt, ‘The Danish Girl’ will become the talk of the town, even more than an Oscar winning Brokeback Mountain did.
The 41-year-old Nicole seems to always play unusual roles and I’ve been wondering why. Is it because she is a talented star and has really fantastic instinct of being an actress so she can play every role she is offered?
