Kate Winslet’s daughter, Mia, is soon becoming a big sister after her father (Kate’s former husband), Jim Threapleton is going to have their first baby with his second wife Julie.

Eight-year-old Mia, who stays with her mother Kate, will be welcoming her new half-sibling after Juile, a new partner of Jim is getting pregnant.

The Titanic actress and Jim divorced in 2001 after they had been married for three years and share an eight-year-old lovely daughter Mia.

Kate Winslet reveals that she has been in good condition with her former film director hubby Jim, who is now working on his latest thrill ‘Exposure’, despite their divorce after their three-year marriage.

The 33-year-old star is happy with Jim and his new wife Julie will welcome a new member to their family next year, meaning her daughter will turn into a big sister to her step-sister or step-brother.

Jim Threapleton, who directed 2007 drama and thriller film Extraordinary Rendition, told Mandrake, “She [Julie] is in the mid stages of her pregnancy and as yet we don’t know what sex the baby will be”.

“Obviously we hope that our child will get to know Mia and take his or her place in the extended family,” added Jim.

After the actress Kate and the filmmaker Jim divorced, Kate is married to her new director husband Sam Mendes and they have a four-year-old son, Joe.

Although the former couple (Kate and Jim) have been split for over 5 years, they are still good friends to each other and Kate often shares some time with him, and Jim often comes to play with Mia.

Kate’s eight-year-old Mia might feel a little bit strange when she grows up as she has two (or more in the future) step-siblings, one shares her mother’s bond while the other shares her father’s.
