Dannii Minogue said she will still be in her position as a judge for the next series of the UK TV music talent show X Factor although she confronted a lot of conflicts with her fellow judges in 2008.
The Aussie star told latest edition of Closer, “The producers and Simon tell me I am returning, so that’s all I believe. So unless I hear differently, then I’ll be back.”
Although she experienced her hard time with judge Louis Walsh, who left her in tears after he blamed her of stealing a song he wanted, Dannii insisted she is keen to return as a judge.
She said, “The panel works perfectly now with Simon, Louis, Cheryl (Cole) and me.”
“We have different opinions – it’s very important.”
However, Simon Cowell, who is one of Dannii’s fellow judges on the show, has hinted that he and Dannii might leave the X Factor after the next series.
He said, “It looks like I’m only going to be doing it until 2010. I’ve really felt it this year. When you do three shows a year it’s tiring and something’s got to give.
“I’m contracted to do one more series and then I’ll make a decision. I’ll see how I feel in the New Year.
“I’m going to sit down in January and ask everyone if they want to come back on the show – because I’m not sure everyone does.
“Dannii and I have genuinely never discussed her coming back. I’ve not sat down with anyone and discussed coming back-including her.
“If Dannii says no then there’s always someone new, and that applies to everyone.”
Meanwhile, Dannii Minogue is taking her rugby star beau Kris Smith to Australia with her during Christmas to meet her parents and her sister Kylie Minogue.
She told the magazine, “I can’t wait to show Kris around Australia. I’m so excited. Initially he was coming for a two-week break, but who knows, he might just take one long holiday and stay with me the whole time!”
