Christina Milan reveals she is shocked after learning her former musician boyfriend Nick Cannon settling down with pop diva Mariah Carey.
The pop singer, who co-starred Nick in 2003 teen-comedy movie ‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing’, dated him for two and a half years before breaking up in summer 2005.
Christina, who struggled through the miserable break-up with Nick, admits that she was stunned to know her ex developing his relationship with Mariah Carey to the next step after the couple said their vows in a secret wedding ceremony earlier this year in the Bahamas.
Christina Milan, 27, tells Rap-Up magazine in its Winter 08/09 issue about her real feeling behind Nick and Mariah’s nuptials.
She says, “I definitely was shocked like everybody else. I was like, ‘Really?’ It just seemed like a weird match. But I was happy for him. I always feel like Nick works hard to get what he wants, whether that be women – that’s how he got me.”
Christina, who is currently working on her latest album ‘Dream in Color’, says she and Nick “were so young” when they started the relationship.
She has not spoken to him since he started dating the I Stay in Love singer, and when looking back to her good old days with Nick, she has no regrets or any bad feelings.
“He’s a beautiful person,” she says. “Regardless of what I felt in the past at the time, I actually forgive him and I’m very much over that.”
Christina, who is currently dating Dre from the production group Cool & Dre, found out Nick was cheating on her after seeing his phone messages exchanged with other women, so she decided to end the relationship with him.
Nick later admitted he was not sincere with her because he found their relationship was too much like a “Christian romance”.
