Cate Blanchett has been spending her wonderful marriage life with her husband with a secret of ‘spooning’, which she finds a key to successful marriage.

The 39-year-old star met her screenwriter and playwright husband Andrew Upton in 1996 while she was performing in a production of ‘The Seagull’. The pair had dated for a year before getting married a year later in December and has three children Dashiell John, 7, Roman Robert, 4, and 7-month-old Ignatius Martin Upton. Since the marriage, they have been together for 11 years now.

Cate Blanchette, who won an Oscar Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for 2004 The Aviator, told Oprah Winfrey, “Someone once said to me, and I think it’s quite true, that if your bodies actually fit together when you’re sleeping in bed… I’m not going to get into too much detail, you’re in good stead.”

“When you can spoon with someone, then you’re OK. Because you might not vote the same way, you might not have the same politics, but sometimes that works for people” added the Academy Award-winning actress.

The Elizabeth I of England star, who is best known for her role of the elf queen Galadriel in The Lord of The Rings trilogy, revealed it was not love at first glance when she first met her hubby.

She said, “He thought I was aloof and I thought he was arrogant. It just shows you how wrong you can be, but once he kissed me that was that.”

It is quite rare to see Hollywood couples spend their future together for more than 10 years as most of them have always been in whirlwind relationship and then split up. Two thumbs up for Cate and her husband!

Cate’s latest movie ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’, which she plays opposite handsome father to six kids, Brad Pitt, is scheduled to be released on Christmas.
