Beyonce Knowles reveals in the April issue of Vogue magazine about her weight the conversation she had with Michelle Obama on the phone after Barack Obama’s inauguration.
The ‘Single Ladies’ hitmaker called Michelle Obama to thank her after she performed at the inaugural ball in January. Beyonce could not help feeling honoured and “fortunate” when Mrs Obama told her that she is a role model for her two young daughters, Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7.
“She told me she was very happy that her girls have someone like me to look up to,” Beyonce told the magazine. “And I’m like, ‘Oh, my God.’ You have to feel fortunate to be one of the people whom parents don’t mind their children looking up to.”
She added, “The older I get, the more I think about the amount of influence I have on these young girls, and it’s scary sometimes. But I also understand how lucky I am to have that.”
Absolutely, it is a big pride to be a role model for someone and especially for those in the White House.
Beyonce Knowles also reveals in the publication it is “easy” for her to gain extra pounds.
The pop star, who is not considered a skinny celeb, admits she has to try so hard to remain in good shape.
She explained, “It’s easy for me to gain weight. I’m not a naturally stick-thin girl. I’m not heavy but I’m not skinny either.”
She also mentioned about being a role model for other girls.
“The amount of influence I have on these young girls is scary sometimes,” she said. “But I also understand how lucky I am to have that.”
Beyonce and her rapper husband Jay-Z were spotted partying in New York with singer Rihanna, who had a row with her boyfriend Chris Brown.
