Beyonce Knowles does not like being called a diva, insisting she is definitely misunderstood.

The Irreplaceable hitmaker, who married her husband Jay-Z in a secret ceremony earlier this year in April, says she does not deserve to be called a diva, and she never has any diva-like behaviour, she is just a normal girl.

The former Destiny’s Child star said, “It angers me when I get called a diva. At one point I was misunderstood a lot. But the more I meet people, I think people are beginning to feel a little differently about me.”

Beyonce Knowles revealed to The Sun years ago that her mother would hate it if she was really a diva.

She explained, “I can guarantee that my mom would lock me up until I came back down to earth if I acted like a diva. When I’m on stage, yeah, I’m a diva. When I’m in front of the camera, I’m a diva. But when I’m not performing, I leave that behind.”

The 27-year-old star, who is set to play a singer Etta James in new film ‘Cadillac Records’, also admitted that she wants to concentrate more on acting career.

She added, “My goal is to become a successful actress in dramas that don’t involve singing. I’ve been comfortable in singing role, but I don’t want to be comfortable. I want non-singing roles that will challenge me.

“I want to open the door for black female entertainers and show them they can do anything.”

Meanwhile, The Crazy in Love singer told the January issue of Elle magazine that she is in no rush to have babies now and admitted she is terrified of ‘delivering a baby’.

“I’m terrified of delivering a child because I saw my nephew being born. That traumatized me,” said Beyonce. “I’m only 27. I’ve got time.”
