Ashlee Simpson was not really looking forward to 2009 and wished she could spend more than 365 days in 2008.

The new mum admits she finds 2008 the greatest year since she was born for 24 years because she is married to her beloved husband Pete Wentz and then became a mother when the couple welcomed their first baby Bronx Mowgli, who is now six weeks old, in November last year.

Ashlee Simpson, who was mad at her Fall Out Boy star hubby Pete Wentz after he revealed too much about their sex life, revealed the first picture of their baby boy in public for the first time at the end of December.

According to People magazine, Ashlee told the reporters before celebrating the New Year’s Eve at Pure Nightclub in Las Vegas, “It was the large assemblage of my life”.

“I don’t know if I can have high expectations for 2009 because 2008 was so good. It was the greatest year of my life,” Ashlee said, adding that her newborn son was now being looked after by a babysitter at a hotel.

“He’s the best thing that ever happened to me.”

Ashlee and her rocker hubby have been spotted hanging out quite often since she gave birth to Bronx and that has caused some critics say she was supposed to stay at home and look after her one-month-old son.

However, despite the fact that the 24-year-old mum seems to be quite happy with the little bundle of joy, she still has some plans to return to work.

She said, “[I want to] go back in the studio [to] start working. Not quite yet, but soon.

“[At the moment] all my focus is on my son. Every day, being a better mom and learning with him. It’s an incredible experience.”
