Alicia Keys is a real multi-talented star after her success in being a singer and an occasional actress. She has recently revealed she wants to write a musical.

The R&B/soul singer, who has won five Grammy Awards in 2002 and won another four in 2005, has appeared in only three movies so far and the latest is ‘The Secret Life Of Bees’ which she played alongside Dakota Fanning, Sophie Okonedo, Queen Latifah and Jennifer Hudson.

The 27-year-old star said, “I want to become a better musician and an artist, continue to become a better actor. I want to go behind the scenes and write for theatre, musical theatre.

“I’d love to bring forth other artists in the music business that are really talented. I would really love to continue to stretch out in many different ways, things that have inspiration involved, those are the kinds of things I would like to be involved in.”

In The Secret Life Of Bees, Alicia Keys got a role of June Boatwright with Sophie Okonedo and Queen Latifah playing as her on-screen sisters.

The New York-born singer/actress said of her co-stars, “Well, myself and Latifah, we knew each other from different events so we already had a good relationship but this really brought all of us closer.

“Gina (Prince-Bythewood, director) brought us together before the film started shooting. Once we arrived on set, it was like open house full of fun and bonding.”

As she could not choose between acting and music, Alicia admits she wants to combine them together.

“You can’t ask me to choose. That’s mean,’ said Alicia.

“No choice. I wouldn’t say more movies than more music, but obviously I do love the art of acting and I do feel like it’s another way of expression so I’m definitely planning on doing more.”
